Youth Programs

Stillwater Community Education youth programs provide academic and recreational opportunities for elementary and secondary age youth during their out of school time (before and after school, evenings, weekends and during the summer).

Purpose
Youth programs instill confidence, increase knowledge and skills, encourage social activity among peers, and promote health and wellness – an excellent program for overall growth.

Tax Credits and Deductions
Many Community Education youth activities may be eligible for Minnesota tax credits and deductions

Families with school-age children may qualify for a tax credit of up to $1,000 per child ($2,000 per family) to reimburse them for certain educational expenses, including tutoring, academic summer camps, enrichment programs, textbooks and instructional materials, home computer hardware, educational software and some expenses associated with individual schools. The Minnesota Department of Revenue fact sheet on the educational tax credit and the education tax deduction (also called a subtraction) can be found at the Minnesota Department of Revenue Website www.taxes.state.mn.us
